Born in the northeast, raised in the southwest, only to settle amongst the barbarians who throttled Rome. Gjaezon’s musical tastes were influenced by his daddy’s whistling piping throughout his childhood home in Cleveland, Ohio. While his parents would listen to Bobby Blue Bland the Commodores and even Julio Iglesias, the youngest of 7 (three brothers, three sisters) taste was informed from a wide range of sounds. These ranged from the limitless dynamic of Earth, Wind and Fire, Stevie Wonder and the Jackson’s to Anita Baker, The Police, blues, jazz, soul and R & B standards among others.
His start making music began at 12 years old playing the clarinet in the school band and singing in the choir. Fast forward 10 years to Jena, Germany where he sang in local ska and reggae bands such as Moon Pon Stick and Kabul Hifi. Since 2004 you can find him accompanying live electro with Less (Erfurt) or D3mons (Jena). He has appeared as a guest vocalist on a number of releases popular to electro aficionado’s.
Today? While still primarily collaborating with Less and D3mons, Gjaezon has branched out into producing his own dynamic sonics, infused with everything you know and love, while trying to foster a tell a different story. His sound is informed from experiences like love, fatherhood and friendship, accentuated with deft wordplay and harmonic flow.
As such, it seems,
from reality comes my dreams,
what truth do I entertain…
when questions still remain – Let me fall
